I could start off with things like where I’m from, my profession, or my experience but considering I’m about to be effectively jobless and homeless that somehow seems significantly less relevant. But until the end of January at least San Diego and Programmatic Digital Advertising. I’ve been camping, hiking, and doing all manner of outdoor sports and activities my whole life, although I’ll be the first to admit my experience is somewhat limited when it comes to backpacking. With only a few multi-day treks under my belt an Appalachian Trail thru hike is certainly jumping in the deep end.

For people who know me well, making the decision to quit my job and spend a yet undetermined amount of time hiking northbound from Georgia to Maine isn’t really out of character because I’ve always loved traveling and the outdoors. But perhaps most importantly I love living without an itinerary.

Throughout my hike in addition to blogging I’ll be doing my best to keep up a stats page for anyone who wants to get details on miles per day, pack weight, etc. without needing to scour through blog posts. I’ve always been a bit of a data nerd myself, so I got you!
